in a conversation so long, so intricate,
so involved, so deep,
that when it ends I cannot speak.
confused, I try the voice and I hear my voice.
its still there. then what isn’t?
what isn’t is knowing what to say,
and I knew what to say by who I said it to,
I am suddenly mute.
I have been working with this idea — trying to express this experience — for the last week or so. This seems closer to what I am after.
